The Youth Enterprise Conference is an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurial students to develop their business skills. Whether looking to found a start-up company or to build on business acumen for a successful career in commerce, this event will connect you with industry experts. There will be a number of guest speakers who will share their wealth of knowledge in the world of business. We will have the following presentations: Why Start a Business? Olga Kozlova: Director of Converge Challenge and Enterprise Creation Manager at Heriot-Watt University Content Marketing: A 21st Century Approach – Chris Marr: a content marketing specialist who runs Learning Everday, established to assist small businesses with their content marketing strategies. Sales and Negotiation – Jeffrey Lovejoy: Head of Talent Acquisition at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. The Journey of an Entrepreneur – Agnes Branny: social entrepreneur and Board Member of the European Peer Training Organisation. Moreover, you will also have the opportunity to take part in a practical workshop of your choice, with options including building business acumen, leadership & motivation and pitching & presentation skills. We will be in touch to confirm the workshop options and which one you would like to take part in. A variety of organisations will be represented at the event, including Deloitte, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Launch.Ed. Please see the schedule below for timings: 5.00pm – 7.00pm: Guest Speakers (Lecture Theatre G.03, 50 George Square). 7.15pm – 8.15pm: Workshops (5 workshops running simultaneously across 5 seminar rooms in Appleton Tower, 50 George Square and David Hume Tower) Please note, it is possible to sign up just to attend the guest speaker portion of the evening. Also, the networking portion is exclusive to those selected for the mentorship programme. We recommend that mentees endeavour to attend the whole where possible.
